Purpose
This guide shows how to configure Peplink for Cloud4Wi.
It refers to Firmware 8.2.1 build 5372. However, it may also be applicable to previous firmware versions.
Please note that the images contained in this article may contain outdated configuration data.
Therefore, check the data in the paragraph "Parameters for the Solution" at the end of the page, as they are likely to be up-to-date.
Prerequisites
To properly integrate a Peplink access point with the Solution, the following is required:
-
The device must be connected to the Internet through either the physical WAN interface or a cellular SIM card
-
The WAN and LAN interfaces are configured correctly.
The WAN interface is responsible for the device's Internet connection. It's necessary to configure the WAN interface properly so that the router can access the Internet and provide connectivity to hotspot users. This usually involves setting up the IP address, default gateway, and subnet mask in case of having a static public IP.
The LAN interface provides local connectivity to the devices that will connect to the access point. The local network to be used by users is established here, and it's important to ensure that the LAN interface configuration is consistent with the requirements and internal network infrastructure of the deployment location. This includes assigning an IP address, subnet mask, and, if necessary, configuring additional network services such as DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol).
Prerequisites
-
Log in to the local device interface or to the following URL: https://incontrol2.peplink.com/login
-
Navigate to the Groups or Devices section, select the device, and then click on Settings -> Remote Web Admin to open a configuration tab.
-
Click on AP -> Wireless SSID -> SSID.
