Customizing messages to end-users

Follow

In the Communications section, accessible only by the Tenant through the Settings menu, it is possible to customize the communications that the Solution sends to end-users when some significant events occur. Currently these events are:

  • The creation of a new end-user
  • The creation of a new system user
  • The recovery of access credentials belonging to an end-user
  • The recovery of access credentials belonging to a system user
  • The creation of a new Venue

It is possible to set the text of each event separately for supported methods of delivery, that are:

  • Email
  • SMS

A message must include a text for each language supported. The Solution, when sending the message, will choose the language according to the following policies:

  • If the action takes place in the Control Panel, the communication will be sent in the language chosen as System language between the International settings of the appropriate Venue.
  • If the action takes place in the Splash Portal, the communication will be sent in the language selected by the end-user when the communication originates.

By entering in the Communications section, it is possible to select each message, in order to view or modify it.

Please note that in order to make the text of each message dynamic, you must define some placeholders that will be conveniently replaced by the Solution with the correct data when the message is actually sent. These placeholders are described in the following table:

PlaceholderDescription
$firstName This value will be replaced with the first name of the user who receives the message
$lastName This value will be replaced with the last name of the user who receives the message
$emailAddress This value will be replaced with the email address of the user who receives the message
$phone This value will be replaced with the phone number of the user who receives the message
$username This value will be replaced with the username of the user who receives the message
$password This value will be replaced with the password of the user who receives the message

The following screen shows how the configuration of each message is. Please note that it is possible to configure a message for each language supported.
