Aerohive ACS Connect
Aerohive ACS Connect is an integration application that allows you to link your Aerohive Hivemanager NG dashboard with the Volare Platform. That way, data can be collected from Aerohive access points and be fed into Volare’s Presence and Location Analytics.
- Company Manager account in Volare
- HiveManager NG account (Build 188.8.131.52), you can register at https://cloud.aerohive.com/login#/login
- Verify 2.4GHz and 5GHz Radio Profiles has Presence Server Settings enabled
Configuration on Volare:
The first step is to go to the Admin Panel, click on Manage → Apps → All and open the Aerohive ACS connect application. Configuration options are available only for Company Managers and they affect all the venues associated with that account.
If the operation is successful on Volare’s end, you will see the data stored in the app
This can be verified on the Hivemanager NG account, go to Settings → API → API Data Management. Here you can see information about Post URL, Created on and status of the API. This indicates that the link between Aerohive and Volare was successful and is now correctly configured to retrieve Presence and Location Analytics data.
Configuration on HiveManager NG:
The default 2.4GHz and 5GHz Radio Profile that is assigned to the access point has Presence feature disabled. This can be verified on HiveManager NG, click on Configure → Common Objects → Policy → Radio Profiles → Radio_ac0/Radio_ng0 and at the bottom of the screen, you can see that the Presence Server Settings feature is disabled.
This default profile cannot be edited. To enable this feature, you need to create a new radio profile or clone an existing radio profile.
The newly created radio profile needs to be assigned to the access point, click on Monitor → Devices → Select AP→ Configuration → Interface Settings → Wireless Interface and then assign the newly created profile to both 2.4 and 5GHz radio and hit Save.
Aerohive access points need to be updated with the new policy, click on Configure → Network Policies → Policy_name → Deploy Policy and click “Upload”.
Once the configuration upload has been completed, the access point will be able to capture presence data and feed it to the Volare Platform.
