Segment Builder is an application that allows the company and venue manager to narrow down and group together end-users. The ability to use this application depends on the license purchased. To access this application, you can click on the quick access toolbar on the left Manage → Apps → All → Segment Builder.
Lists generated using the Segment Builder app can be used for the marketing tools provided through Volare or with third-party applications. For example, using the Segment Builder to make a list of a specific age group that can be used in combination with "Triggered campaigns" app to send targeted and send more effective messages. A Segment Builder list can contain a maximum of two rules and at least one of them need to be met ("OR" logic). For each rule, all the conditions must be simultaneously satisfied ("AND" logic).
Creating a new Segment Builder campaign
You can create a new campaign by clicking on the Add button. To edit an existing campaign, simply click on the campaign name and Edit button.
When creating a new campaign, the following options are available:
The "Attribute" option is defined by the information collected within the Welcome Portal utilizing many different login and/or registration methods.
Currently, the following attributes are available:
- First name
- Phone number
- Job title
- Number of followers
- Identity provider
- Validation status
The attributes defined above have an associated filter to narrow the segment you are targeting.
The third field will let you define a conditional value.
You can save the above condition and create multiple other conditions to meet your use-case.
Note - all the conditions must be simultaneously satisfied ("AND" logic)
The "Event" option allows you to define where, when and how frequently, the campaign should be sent.
If you select the event "signed up", then you can specify the following conditions:
- Venue: to enable a campaign to be sent when the end-user is in a particular place.
- Time: to enable a campaign to be sent in a particular range of time.
If you select the event "logged in", then you can specify the following conditions:
- Frequency: to enable a campaign to be sent in a particular frequency.
After the campaign is saved, you will be redirected to the main page, where you will see a list of all segments created along with the number of users for each list.
As already mentioned, you can use the segments created in such way in the "Triggered campaigns" application.
