The Facebook Custom Audience Connector allows you to synchronize your Cloud4Wi Contacts into Facebook Custom Audiences. Contact data is pseudo-anonymized before being transferred to Facebook and once Facebook receives it, it matches the records with Facebook users to create a Custom Audience.
The Connector runs every hour and syncs new and updated Contact with the configured Custom Audience. You can define the Segment to add to the audience as well as Segments to remove from it. With this technique, you can make sure your Audience always contains only the records that you want to target for your ad campaigns. For example, for a retargeting campaign, you can decide to add to an Audience all Contacts that have not been seen for a while and remove all those that have recently visited your locations.
Before to start
In order to enable the Cloud4Wi Connector with Facebook, you will need the account credentials for a Facebook account that you will be using for Ads Manager.
Please note you will need to be an admin on the Facebook Ads Manager account in order to configure the audience output in Cloud4Wi.
The Cloud4Wi Connector works with Custom Audiences by pushing Customer Lists. Facebook requires that your Ads Manager account must be linked to a Business Manager account to be able to create Custom Audiences starting from a Customer List.
Moreover, in order to use custom audiences, you may need to accept the terms of service of Facebook. Visit the following link: https://www.facebook.com/ads/manage/customaudiences/tos/?act=134310090289053 and click "Accept".
Setup
1. Find the Facebook Custom Audiences connector on the Connectors page, click on the card and then select "Use Integration"
2. Click on the button "+ Connect your Facebook Ads" to connect your Facebook Ads account. Follow the instructions to authenticate with your Facebook Ads account in the pop-up.
You can find your Facebook Account Id here: https://business.facebook.com/ads/manager/account_settings/information/
You can build your own Facebook App or you can leave the other option empty to use the default Cloud4Wi app to operate the integration. If you want to create or use your own Facebook app, please contact our support team.
In the next screen click "Link datasource", log in with your Facebook account give the consent and permissions to the app.
3) In the Setting step, you can select what Contact to sync with your custom audience.
You can select the list of Segments that you want to ADD to your Custom audience (if you leave the selection empty all Contacts will be added).
You can also select a list of Segment that you want to REMOVE from the Custom Audience (leave it empty to do not remove any contact).
For example, you may want to add all new contacts recently subscribed and remove any contact that you marked as "lost customer" using the related segment rules.
4) Next, you need to decide what Custom Audience to use to sync your Contacts. You have the option to let the connector create a new custom audience for you; in this case, select "Yes" from the menu and you'll be able to decide the name of the custom audience on the next step.
Otherwise, select "No" to use an existing custom audience.
If you decide to create a new custom audience, the next screen will ask you to choose a name.
5) As a last step, you need to finally select the Custom Audience you want to sync the Contacts with. If you created a new audience in the previous step, you'll find it listed in this menu.
Done!
On the first run, the Connector will process all the existing Contact profiles and the operation may take a few minutes. By default, the connector runs every hour and process all new and updated Contacts according to the rules you've just defined in the setup wizard.
Troubleshooting and common errors
"To create or edit a Custom Audience made from a customer list, your admin needs to add this ad account to a business. "
If you reive this message, it means that your Ad Manager account is not associated with a Business Manager account. A Business Manager account is required to create custom audiences starting from a Customer List.
