November 25th 2020
On the next release (7.15), scheduled for December 15th, we will introduce some improvements to the processes that automatically classifies non-visitors devices and discard them from the computation of the location analytics.
The new mechanism takes into account the "business hours" assigned to each location to identify with more precision the devices that do not belong to visitors. In order to improve the accuracy of the metrics, we advise configuring properly the business hours of your locations.
This new mechanism will be applied if you have checked the "enable calibration" option in the analytics settings (more here).
Impact on the heatmap
The heatmap used to have a dedicated cleaning mechanism built to improve the accuracy of the visualization. With release 7.15, the heatmap will start using the new classification mechanism that relied also on the business hours. In order to maintain the accuracy of the heatmap visualization, we advise configuring the business hours of your locations before December 15th and enable the "calibration option".
